The U.S. Constitution mandates that a census of the population be conducted once every 10 years for the purposes of reapportioning Congress. Census data is also used to determine how more than $675 billion in federal funds are distributed back to states and local communities every year for services and infrastructure, including health care, jobs, schools, roads and businesses.  Make sure that you, your friends, your family, your neighbors and your community get counted.   Listen to WVON AM 1690 on Saturday mornings at 8 a.m. and get up to date information on the census and census events.

The University of Illinois at Chicago’s Jane Addams Center for Social Policy and Research, Acclivus, Inc and ALSO are looking to lead outreach for hard to count populations through an effort we are calling “AC-COUNT-ability: Don’t Count Us Out.”
